Kristen Osborne

Attorney

Legal problems rarely fit into one neat box. Neither does Kristen S. Osborne’s approach to solving them.

As an attorney in Intellectual Property Consulting's Birmingham office, Kristen combines a litigator's strategy, an investigator’s curiosity, and a creative entrepreneur's innovation in a blend that benefits the tech startups, entrepreneurs, artists, and creative businesses she serves.

Her practice spans commercial disputes, internal investigations, intellectual property protection, and business planning, with a particular passion for emerging technology, artificial intelligence, and the creative economy.

Before joining IPC, Kristen served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, where she led investigative teams and litigated cases involving financial fraud, money laundering, organized criminal networks, and child exploitation. As the district's Asset Forfeiture Coordinator, she developed extensive experience tracing and recovering criminal assets to maximize victim recovery. Kristen brings additional background experience from time spent as an insurance defense trial lawyer, a health insurance legal manager, and a federal law clerk for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

Kristen has first-hand insight into the challenges entrepreneurs face. In the few quiet hours outside of her legal career, she built a digital content marketing business, negotiating contracts, managing client relationships, and navigating intellectual property rights in real time. That experience fundamentally changed her perspective on her role as a lawyer and ignited a passion to help her clients overcome barriers, avoid mistakes, and protect their hard work.

Outside the office, Kristen is a mother of two boys, an avid hiker, and a closet Disney World addict. She's equally comfortable planning a remote mountain expedition or a packed Disney itinerary, and approaches both with maximum enthusiasm and slightly obsessive preparation.
